Industrial robots have been used for decades in various industries such as the chemical, automotive, and mechanical engineering industries. Transport robots, however, have only been available as a complementary service robot in recent years.
The so-called CoBots are trained to navigate the rooms using SLAM technology via their built-in LIDAR scanners and are assigned targets. The targets are then available directly on the robot's display or can be controlled via the Alpha11 cloud robot controller (Bot Pilot). Elevator control is also possible, allowing the robots to reach their destination independently from one floor to another.
The autonomous, self-driving service robots can handle weights of up to 600 kg and inclines of up to 10°. They can overcome thresholds up to 3.5 cm long and 1.5 cm high. Stair-climbing robots are also under development but not yet available. Further information is also available at www.service-roboter.org
